Black Magic Cafe

Well, while delicious, I don’t know if I will ever go to Black Magic Cafe again.

I had a friend visiting from the New England area and wanted to take her to the Folly Beach Pier. We attempted to stop at a couple coffee shops on our way but since it was Labor Day, a lot of places were closed. We made it to Folly, looked on Yelp and decided on Black Magic Cafe.

We waited for a bit but what is nice about waiting here is you can grab a coffee and a snack at their walk up coffee bar. I grabbed us some iced coffees and a chocolate croissant which was perfect as we waited in the sunshine for some brunch.

My friend ordered a chicken biscuit dish covered in eggs and pimento cheese. It was delicious. I ordered a chicken sandwich with fresh mozzarella, spinach, and pesto. The food, coffee, and environment was great.

However, as we walked towards the pier a mere 5-10 minutes later, I got extremely sick and ended up not being full for too much longer. I have never experienced food poisoning that bad or that quickly. I never want to eat a grilled chicken sandwich again or go near this place. I was out of commission for several days and was no fun for my friend’s last day in town.
