A friend of mine swears by Poe’s Tavern and upon our arrival, it appears that she isn’t the only one. There were lines to wait for seating in and out of the restaurant but luckily it moved pretty quickly and proved to be worth the wait.
My boyfriend and I were with a friend who was visiting from Nashville. This friend LOVES queso, so of course, we got queso to start. This was a good idea as our server let us know the kitchen was a little backed up. No problem, we had beer and queso. Also a good thing – they had a grapefruit shandy on tap!
We sat outside, drank some beer, ate some queso and had a great time. There were burgers all around and all were thoroughly enjoyed. I, personally, ordered the Amontilado with chicken which was a chicken burger with Guacamole, Jalapeno Jack Cheese, Pico de Gallo, & Chipotle Sour Cream.
The nachos looked awesome and may be what I need to order next time.
Just two block from the beach in Sullivan’s Island, it’s located perfectly for a beach walk to walk off all the carbs you ingest 🙂
